Howdy! My name is Michael Steiner and I'm a Hardware Nerd and Industrial Designer based in Brooklyn, NY
Currently I'm working on making batteries and battery charging safer, and trying to improve the lives of people who rely on electric mobility for their jobs, commutes, and everything in between.
I've worked on projects that span many industries including transportation & mobility, renewable energy, agriculture, traditional manufacturing, and additive manufacturing.
I recently led hardware design at Vammo, a Brazilian electric mobility company developing battery charging and swapping technology for delivery couriers using electric motorcycles and mopeds.
I led the charging and street Infrastructure development at Uber for their JUMP micromobility system, and prior to that, designed and managed all infrastructure for Social Bicycles starting In 2013. (Social Bicycles eventually rebranded to JUMP and was acquired by Uber In May, 2018.)
I also advise small companies on design & product strategy as well as supply chain and manufacturing.
